The Clinical Effect of Broncho-vaxom^(®) on the Patients with Chronic Bronchitis

Abstract
|
|
|
The clinical effect of Brocho-Vaxom®, a specific and non-specific immunostimulant, on the patients with chronic bronchitis was studied. Patients were observed for a period of 6 months. After 1 month observation without Broncho-Vaxom® administration, forty-two patients were divided into two groups
Group I, 20 Patients with acute respiratory infections, received Broncho-Vaxom® one capsule daily for the second months and for each last 10 days of the third and fourth months of the trial.
Group II, 22 patients without acute respiratory infections, received one capsule daily for each last 10 days of three successive months.
Patients were kept under observation without Boncho-Vaxom® administration during the next 2 months.
The results are as follows
1. Clinical symptoms such as cough, dyspnea, expectoration, fever, and auscultatory signs were significantly improved.
2. In evaluation by physician, curative effect of Broncho-Vaxom® in group I was effective in 16 patients (80%), And in that by patient, it was effective in 17 (85%).
3. Compared with corresponding period of the previous year, the preventive effect of Broncho-Vaxom® in total patient (group I & II) was effective in 36 patients (86%).
4. Side reactions during medication were little.
